As a center for thought leadership, Marquette Universitys Graduate School of Management makes it a priority to sponsor speakers on and around campus who are a a difference in todays business world. Youll encounter nationally and locally recognized leaders, politicians and culty members who are experts in their fields.
The Marquette EMBA is an accelerated, internationally focused MBA program designed for working professionals with at least five years of management experience. The main difference is that the EMBA is designed as an accelerated program for experienced business leaders.
Students earn a degree in 17 months, roughly half the time it usually takes to complete a traditional part-time MBA program. The program features a flexible schedule of twice-monthly class meetings on the Milwaukee campus supplemented by Web-based instruction and team interaction. This means students are only required to be on campus one day every other week. Traditional MBA programs require weekly or twice-weekly class attendance.
Students enter in August as a cohort group and progress through the EMBA program together, taking the same classes at the same time. This unique structure provides opportunities for professional and personal growth and networking, and many of our graduates maintain close relationships with their EMBA classmates well beyond their time at Marquette.
EMBA students are assigned to teams of four to six students from diverse backgrounds. Teams ideally stay together for the entire program.
Part-time MBA students participate in teamwork in most classes, but teams vary from class to class. Students in the part-time MBA program go through at their own pace with different students each semester.
Speaking of those classmates, all Marquette EMBA students are required to have at least five years of management experience prior to entering the program, and the average Marquette EMBA student has 12 years of work experience. This allows for high-level in-class discussions about real-world business issues. Our students learn as much from their peers as they do from their professors. Though work experience is not required in the part-time MBA program, most students entering the part-time program have an average of six to seven years of it.
The international focus of the Marquette EMBA is reinforced through a transformational international experience that students take during the spring or summer session. Part-time MBA students are not required to participate in an international experience but have the option to do so.
